Oded Tzur Quartet

Highly praised saxophonist from New York who interweaves jazz and Indian music.

Oded Tzur is a tenor saxophonist with a warm tone reminiscent of John Coltrane, with which he convincingly blends blues, Indian ragas, synagogue prayers and classical music into an unmistakable universal language. He is praised for his narrative compositions, his unprecedented control over the saxophone’s dynamics and his singular technique of sliding between its various notes.

Born in Tel Aviv and currently living in New York, the saxophonist also studied Indian music with the legendary flutist Hariprasad Chaurasia at the Rotterdam conservatory. Isabela, his fourth album as a leader, will be released in April 2022 on ECM Records.
