NILS WOGRAM´S NOSTALGIA

AFTERWARDS IN THE CAFÉ: DJ MICHAEL MOORE

Nils Wogram trombone, Arno Krijger hammond-orgel, Dejan Terzic drums

Sometimes he sounds like a trumpet and sometimes like a horn or even a didgeridoo; for Nils Wogram the trombone knows no limits. ‘His technique as well as his musical thinking have a rare flexibility’, says de Volkskrant about the German globetrotter who is counted among the best trombone improvisers in the world. With Nostalgia he links jazz to the rock and dance underground.

Nostalgia is the first trio to combine trombone with Hammond organ and drums. Contrary to what the name implies, the band is in fact very innovative. Challenging grooves and beats are married seemingly natural to odd meters and atmospheric breaks.

‘One of the most exciting and versatile improvisers in jazz. At the core of all his projects is a deep understanding of jazz fundamentals and a rich, fat tone’ (Downbeat).

The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
