Guitarist/composer Franky Douglas, master of ceremonies of his unmistakable band Sunchild will open the year 2004 with a party! With this group, he has been pursuing his own course since the late 70’s in which he confronts caribbean rhythms with jazz, funk, brassband and the musical codes of the Amsterdam international impro scene. He does all this in a highly surprising way. Beforehand, Sunchild’s tenor saxophonist Franklin Caesar will present his new crosscultural jazz formation and his debut CD, all by the name: ‘A driven spirit’.
