NIELS BIJL IN CONCERT
Niels Bijl tenorsax
A rich variety of solo pieces for tenor saxophone in the classical tradition and from contemporary music by Niels Bijl, a true specialist of the instrument.
Dutch sax player Niels Bijl is a true specialist of the tenor saxophonist. Jazz music has many famous tenor players such as Coleman Hawkins, Ben Webster, Dexter Gordon or John Coltrane, but the classical saxophone tradition does not have many tenor specialists. Niels Bijl fills the gap really well.
Niels Bijl presents a rich variety of music for solo tenor saxophone. The highlight is the spectacular piece ‘Hard’ by Tenesian-French composer Christian Lauba, which has become one of the most well-known solos for tenor sax.
