NARCISSUS

Afterwards at the café: DJ Hanneman

Robin Verheyen sax, Jozef Dumoulin piano, Clemens van der Feen bas, Flin van Hemmen drums

New York, Paris, Brussels: the members of Narcissus have fledged since they started this band in Amsterdam 10 years ago. Recently they’ve reunited for their album Narcissus No. 2 and now they’re back for a concert at the Bimhuis. ‘One of the finest jazz bands of the lowlands’, says de Volkskrant. ‘Improvised jazz with a lot of attention for lyricism.’

Robin Verheyen, saxophonist in Narcissus, is recognized as one of the greatest talents in Belgian jazz. He has established himself in New York. His fellow countryman Jozef Dumoulin, who plays piano and Fender Rhodes, joined the Paris jazz scene in 2006. Double bassist Clemens van der Feen is in demand with Dutch jazz bands and ‘has unprecedented talent’, according to De Volkskrant. Drummer Flin van Hemmen was discovered by such renowned players as Michael Brecker and Jesse van Ruller.

Afterwards at the café DJ Hanneman.

The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
