MYRA MELFORD TRIO BE BREAD

Myra Melford is the genuine article, the most gifted pianist/composer to emerge from jazz since Anthony Davis’, wrote the prominent critic Francis Davis. Melford’s work has many layers, the blues and boogie from her hometown Chicago can be heard, but also the Balkans and Indian elements. She combines the avant-garde way of her teacher Don Pullen with lyrical poetry. This electro-acoustic trio is her new group in which song forms are more distinguished than before.
