James Blood Ulmer is back at the Bimhuis, presenting the trio that blew everyone away at the leading Vision Festival, last summer in his home base New York. Ever since his breakthrough in the 1970s Ulmer is known as an innovator of the electric guitar. In his raw, unbridled music he combines the gospel of his youth with a free spirited approach of jazz inspired by Ornette Coleman. At the Bimhuis he will be accompanied by a fantastic, explosive rhythm section with bassist Calvin Jones and drummer Cornell Rochester, who made name here with the Podium Trio and Jamaaladeen Tacuma.
