Brazilian singer/guitarist Moyseis Marques, the face of the new samba generation in Rio de Janeiro, plays original songs alongside famous music by Chico Buarque.

Singer Moyseis Marques started his career in the bars of the bohemian Lapa neighborhood in Rio de Janeiro, accompanying himself on acoustic guitar. Now he’s a big name in the samba genre.

At the Bimhuis he will play a concert in three parts. In part one he will perform famous cover songs with his Samba Quintet. Part two features original songs from his previous four albums and his recent album Made in Brazil. In the third part he will interpret songs from the iconic Ópera do Malandro by Chico Buarque, a love story between Rio and samba taking place in the Lapa neighborhood in the 1940s.


The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
