Mose Allison (1927), legendary jazz vocalist and pianist, favorite of hans Dulfer and Herman Brood who named his group Wild Romance after a song of Allison. Allison is sometimes called the William Faulkner of jazz. His influence on various artists like The Rolling Stones, John Mayall, J.J. Cale, The Who and The Clash can not be denied. Allison, in his own words: ‘My style is the result of playing 50 years with no technique. I never studied the piano beyond elementary school, so I’m not trained. But I do have a great feeling of the time, which to me is the basic, most essential but most overlooked element of jazz.’
