Morvin Records was founded in 2005 by saxophonist Frans Vermeerssen and studio owner, sound engineer, radio producer and saxophonist Hans Wijnbergen. Morvin is a non-profit label and works as a joint venture, not connected to any style or scene, whether it is about the improvised music of Talking Cows of Robinson, Freitag & Caruso, about the original klezmer of Di Gojim or the jazz funk grooves of Saxmaniac. The four groups that now occupy the ‘stable’ of Morvin will be performing at the highly promising Morvin Music Night. Instead of the regular a la carte menu there will be a buffet in the Bimhuiscafé-restaurant, from 7pm, euro 15 (reservations +31 (0)20 788 2158)
