Anna Webber is a unique multi-talent on tenor sax and flute. Her music runs like well-oiled clockwork and is fascinating to observe. In this double concert her Simple Trio from New York is preceded by the project Wake the Dead by Morris Kliphuis and Joanna Duda.

Dutch hornist Morris Kliphuis and Polish pianist Joanna Duda: driven by their mutual fascination for baroque instruments, these jazz musicians build their own sound world with the help of improvisation and electronica. In this special concert they will play with an ensemble of period music students from the Royal Conservatoire The Hague.

The Simple Trio features musicians who have made a name for themselves as band leaders in New York. Each of them has a heart for jazz, contemporary classical, and improvisation. Canadian-born Anna Webber excels at tenor sax as well as flute. She has reached the top of the Downbeat Critics Polls in the category Rising Star Flute. Her intriguing compositions guide the other musicians in Simple Trio: pianist Matt Mitchell, known from the ensembles of Tim Berne and Dave Douglas, and percussionist John Hollenbeck, leader of Claudia Quintet, among others.
