Morricone Moods is a multi media project in which improvised electro acoustic space jazz, alternative pop-scapes and live edited images of Morricone films are combined. Central point is the interaction between musicians and video artist Job Geheniau, tension span, time and general movements are strongly dependent on the interaction between visuals and music. Geheniau edits all images live and determines on the spot how the story will go on. Musicians improvise on composed themes and blend those with classic samples, rock elements and ambient soundscapes. The first meeting of Eric Vloeimans with Morricone was the film ‘Once Upon a time in the West’. Vloeimans was touched by the emotion of Morricone’s music. ‘Beautiful melodies, on the edge of kitsch, but because of this, just right. It is very rare to find a soundtrack that still stands without the images of the film but with Morricone this is often the case’. With this bass and drumless trio, Vloeimans, Jeroen van Vliet and Fay Lovsky present their own interpretation of the typical Morricone sound. Passe-partout with concert Muziekgebouw aan ‘t IJ on sunday September 30: € 30. For more information on the B-OOST Festival: www.b-oost.nl
