Flamenco dancer La Nina and DJ Philippona are the curators for this edition of Monday Match. La Nina brings together seven dancers of various age groups, each with their own background and experience, but with one similarity: they have all been dancing flamenco for years. In this ‘Monday Match arena’ they will investigate how they can improvise with a comparatively static dance such as flamenco. Solo or together, dancers will interact with the music, the audience and, above all, the moment. Alongside DJ Philippona the musical instigators will be flutist Albert Manders and flamenco guitarist Edsart Udo de Haes, against a background of ambient compositions by Sjoerd Leijten and Patrick Bossink.
Usually every first Monday of the month, during Monday Match, dancers and musicians collaborate to create unique improvisational performances on-the-spot in front of a live audience. The unusual pairings will inspire performers and audiences alike.
Afterwards 22:00, free admission: DJ PHILIPPONA Jazz Lost & Found. Dance till midnight to the eclectic mix of hidden treasures & crazy grooves
