Usually every first Monday of the month, during Monday Match, dancers and musicians collaborate to create unique improvisational performances on-the-spot in front of a live audience. The unusual pairings will inspire performers and audiences alike.
Dancer Suzana Gomes and saxophone player Bo van de Graaf are the curators for this edition of Monday Match. Suzana Gomez has specialized herself in contemporary dance and aerial acrobatics. The Brazil born dancer is active in the Amsterdam company Teatro Munganga and the Swiss group ÖFF ÖFF. For over 25 years Bo van de Graaf is the leader of the Dutch band I Compani, which combines jazz with a multitude of styles including opera and film music. Since 1985 I Compani performs at the Bimhuis, for instance last October with pianist Guus Janssen.
Afterwards 22:00, free admission: DJ PHILIPPONA Jazz Lost & Found. Dance till midnight to the eclectic mix of hidden treasures & crazy grooves.
