MIKE MAINIERI & MARNIX BUSSTRA TRIO

In the heydays of fusion vibraphone player Mike Mainieri played in the super group Steps Ahead, alongside Michael Brecker and Steve Gadd. As a teenager he already earned praise as a sideman to Billie Holiday and Buddy Rich. His recent collaboration with Dutch guitarist Marnix Busstra in the electric group Second Vision is now continued in an acoustic setting. Mainieri’s vibraphone is given room in Busstra’s new trio. This month sees the release of their new CD 12 Pieces.
