MIHALY DRESCH QUARTET

In the fall of 2004 the Bimhuis organized the 4 day event Budapest Nights with the crème de la crème of the Hungarian music scene. According to many listeners the group of saxophonist Mihály Dresch, with his unique fusion of American free jazz and traditional Hungarian music, expressive and passionate, was the absolute highlight of the festival, ‘Dresch gives us an impression how John Coltrane would have sounded if he had been born in Hungary.’ (Der Standard).
