MASTERCLASS JOSHUA REDMAN
Friday6 November 2015

The Bimhuis and Conservatorium van Amsterdam present a master class by the famous American jazz saxophonist Joshua Redman. The master class will take place on the same day as the concert by the band James Farm, of which Joshua Redman is a member. The conservatory has selected three different bands formed by students. Each band will get a 30 minute master class.

Saxophonist/composer Joshua Redman (1969) grew up in a musical environment as the son of jazz musician Dewey Redman and dancer Renee Shedroff, a teacher at the leading Center for World Music in Berkeley, California. At an early age he earned the reputation as a young hero on tenor sax. In his current band James Farm the emphasis is less on ego and more on interaction and group dynamics.

Bands:
1. Gideon Tazelaar sax, Ties Tazelaar bas, Wouter Kuhn drums
2. Federico Pascucci sax, Jan Catright drums
3. Fernando Sánchez sax, João Pedro Coelho piano, Giuseppe Romagnoli bas, Robin van Rhijn drums
