Masterclass by American tenor hero and all-round saxophone virtuoso James Carter, featuring students of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

SAX14 is honored to welcome James Carter as festival guest. He has the ability to operate within every jazz style and he does that with an incredible instrumental command. His approach is comparable to what composers like Christian Lauba have done within the classical realm: to integrate every possible saxophone effect within one musical language. At his public masterclass James Carter will work with students of the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

Alongside his performance with the Organ Trio he will give a solo performance and a duo improvisation with Vincent Davis during SAX14.
