MARTA TOPFEROVA

Originally Marta Topferova comes from the Czech Republic but she moved to Seattle as a teenager. Since 1996 she is a part of the New York melting pot in which she draws from various sources like folk music in the Spanish language, merengue, son and flamenco. ‘Don’t let the name fool you, the husky-voiced Topferova is a top-flight singer who offers a mellow and sensual take on the South American folk music tradition.’ (Village Voice).
