Marius Neset Quartet

Marius Neset tenor sax, Elliot Galvin keyboards, Connor Chaplin bass, Anton Eger drums

‘The most talented Norwegian saxophonist since Jan Garbarek in the 1960s’, is what he was called in the Norwegian press. American magazine Downbeat placed him among the greatest jazz talents in the special edition ’25 for the Future’. Marius Neset is praised for his excellent technique on tenor and soprano saxophone, and also for his musical vision: to take his listeners on a journey.

Norwegian-born and Copenhagen-based saxophonist Marius Neset made his spectacular entry in the jazz world in 2011 with his album Golden Xplosion. Alongside his own albums, he has released recordings as a soloist with, among others, London Sinfonietta and Trondheim Jazz Orchestra. On our stage he has appeared alongside some of the greats of Scandinavian jazz: double bassist Arild Andersen and pianist Iiro Rantala.
