MARILYN CRISPELL/GERRY HEMINGWAY DUO

Marilyn Crispell piano, Gerry Hemingway drums/vibrafoon

A pianist who has been compared to ‘an active volcano’ (New York Times) and a percussionist who produces an endless array of sounds from one cymbal alone; they find each other in a breathtaking tour de force. Marilyn Crispell does not hide her classical background in alternately meditative and stirring piano playing. Gerry Hemingway continues to find new ways to play drums and vibraphone. In the 1980s they already played together in the Anthony Braxton Quartet. ‘Crispell and Hemingway sound joined at the hip’ (The Guardian).

The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
