Marcin Wasilewski Trio – En attendant

Marcin Wasilewski’s trio is very close. These three Polish musicians have played with trumpet legend Tomasz Stańko for fifteen years. With him they share a love for composer Krzysztof Komeda, who made captivating soundtracks for film classics such as Knife in the Water and Rosemary’s Baby. The trio’s impressive repertory includes original compositions alongside film music, classical pieces, and pop songs.

The trio’s most recent album, En attendent, is the follow-up to Arctic Riff, a collaboration with Joe Lovano. Both albums appeared on the label ECM Records, which is praised for its excellent sound quality. Alongside original works, the album contains variations on ‘Vashkar’ by Carla Bley, ‘Riders on the Storm by The Doors, and even a selection from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Goldberg Variations. The Marcin Wasilewski Trio is at the top of Polish jazz and celebrates international success as well. Pianist Marcin Wasilewski received acclaim as a Rising Star in the Downbeat Critics Polls.
