MARC MOMMAAS: LANDMARC
THE GUITAR PROJECT
Marc Mommaas tenor saxophone, Nate Radley guitar, Vic Juris guitar, Tony Moreno drums
Dutch tenor saxophone player Marc Mommaas is from the same generation as Eric Vloeimans and Michiel Borstlap and has a similar talent for accessible, yet intricate tunes. Since 1997 he has been living in New York, where he graduated from the Manhattan School of Music and where he now leads several bands. In Landmarc he plays with long-time drummer Tony Moreno and no less than three guitarists: Nate Radley provides a solid base, to which Vic Juris and Rez Abbasi add color and counterpoint. ‘Mommaas is a gifted tenor saxophonist… the music has its own nearly classical beauty’ (Jazz Times).
