MARC COPLAND TRIO & GREG OSBY
Marc Copland-piano, John Hebert-bass, Bill Stewart-drums, Greg Osby-alto sax
After a career as a saxophone player Marc Copland dedicated himself to the piano in 1973. With 10 years of training and many performances as a sideman behind him, he found recognition in Europe, where he created most of his CDs. His thoughtful, melodic compositions are akin to the music of Bill Evans. At Bimhuis Copland meets Greg Osby. This saxophonist flirted with hip-hop in the 1990s, but he also knows his way around Copland’s more traditional style.
