MAGPIE MUSIC DANCE COMPANY

The magpie finds beautiful things everywhere, just like this Amsterdam collective of dancers and musicians that creates performances in ‘real time’, music nor choreography are definite beforehand. They are inspired by many forms, from ballet to new dance and from electronic music to jazz. Their previous performance was an acoustic one, a string trio with three dancers, but this time they use sounds from the powerbook and the electric violin, completed with the saxophone of Biggi Vinkelo, who worked with leading men like Barre Phillips and Peter Kowald.
