This year, the 12th edition of the Amsterdam Dance Event (‘The Worlds Biggest Club Festival’) takes place at more than 40 locations in Amsterdam. MACHINEFABRIEK Rutger Zuydervelt’s name is so known in the Wire-en-Gonzo reading part of the Dutch nation that we almost forgot that this is his first performance at the Bimhuis. Machinefabriek is fun music! Electro acoustic improvisations with guitar, turntable, cello, Tibetan scale, file, e-bow or bow. Maschinefabriek is free art music from the Netherlands. PIERRE BASTIEN Creator of an Orchestre Mécanique, his orchestra of automata that seems to come from a Michel Gondry film. Pierre Bastien is a much loved member of the experimental music world with fans like Squarepusher and Aphex Twin. His concerts are sonically as well as visually a special experience. Recently he performed with Tom Jenkinson and Evan Parker at the Cité de la Musique in Paris. NOT APPLICABLE Not Applicable is a collaboration between young freetonics pioneers Ollie Brown and Sam Britton (Icarus), impro masters Tom Arthurs (trumpet/bugle), (Lothar Ohlmeier (bass clarinet/saxophone) and Maurizio Ravalico (percussion). Not Applicable wells together electro acoustic improvisation with musique concrète and post-jungle hyper rhythmics. An example of sonic imagination, electric skill and musical renovation. Midnight (free admission) LIJN5 SELECTOR (t.b.a.)
