LABORINTUS 2
Sunday30 September 2012

With Laborintus 2, Italian avant-garde composer Luciano Berio has created a lively sound world of poetic lyrics, choir singing, musical instruments and fiery theatre, based on the work of Dante, T.S. Eliot and Ezra Pound. Laborintus 2 is like a piazza in a Roman quarter, where neighbours gather to eat and talk together; a network of contacts both anarchic and warm, that encompasses impassioned theatre as well as swinging jazz. The performance, directed by Arnold Marinissen, will be rendered by students of the Conservatory of Amsterdam and actor Hans Dagelet will appear as the speaker.

Laborintus 2 is Conservatory of Amsterdam, Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ and Bimhuis co-production.

The Berio Festival will take place in the Muziekgebouw aan ’t IJ from 28 til 30 September 2012. The Laborintus 2 programme lasts 45 minutes (no intermission).
