Top international Latin jazz drummer Lucas van Merwijk leads 21 musicians in his Cubop City Big Band. ‘Cubop City is not only the most explosive Latin band in Europe; it’s also hot in North and South America’ (de Volkskrant). Since 2010 the band has been highlighting a different country every year, first Venezuela, then Colombia and now Uruguay. Special guests during this concert are singers Beatriz Aguiar and Rudy Varela and pianist José Lopretti and multi-instrumentalist José Perez.
Bimhuis Restaurant opens at 18:30. After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
