LUC EX’ ASSEMBLÉE

with INGRID LAUBROCK, AB BAARS, HAMID DRAKE
AFTERWARDS AT THE CAFÉ: DJ HAN BUHRS
Luc Ex bas, Ingrid Laubrock, Ab Baars tenorsax, Hamid Drake drums

Luc Ex, originally the bass player for The Ex, has been bringing together forward-thinking musicians from all over the world for years, for live improvisations with a punk attitude. Following his 12-piece ‘free big band’ SOL12 he now presents the more compact Assemblée, based on the line-up of a classical jazz quartet.

Assemblée features renowned musical innovators. Chicago-based Hamid Drake is seen as one of the most important innovative drummers of our time. In his improvisations he incorporates principles of Afro-Cuban, Indian and African percussion. Brooklyn-based saxophonist Ingrid Laubrock currently makes waves in the international improvised music scene. After 30 years reeds player Ab Baars still is a pillar for the Dutch improvised music scene.

Together they will interpret Luc’s short compositions: intense, dynamic music with elements of jazz, adventurous rock and experimental music.

The Bimhuis restaurant
is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via
