LOUIS SCLAVIS ATLAS TRIO

Louis Sclavis klarinet/basklarinet, Benjamin Moussay toetsen/Fender Rhodes, Gilles Coronado gitaar

Louis Sclavis, ‘the contemporary figurehead of European jazz clarinet’ (FD), ventures into a completely new direction with this formation.

The French trio plays a mixture of minimal music, abstract funk, rock and folk, sometimes tightly following the melody and other times loosely stepping outside the lines. Remarkable is the compact line-up, in which subtle acoustic parts on clarinet and piano intertwine with the raw sounds of electric guitar and Fender Rhodes.

Louis Sclavis is renowned for his fabulous technique, especially on bass clarinet. His compositions and improvisations often display influences of North-African and Breton music.

The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
