Saxophonist Lotte Anker, mainly known for her Copenhagen Art Ensemble and her duo/trio with pianist Marilyn Crispell, explores the wild, poetic side of musical communication with the powerful duo Taborn and Cleaver. The collective improvisations are loosely based on Ankers’ structures. ‘African township jive with Frank Zappa-ish arrangements and a Miles Davis electric groove’, is how Cadence described the music of Jacob Anderskov. The little big band of the Fender Rhodes player offers a kaleidoscope of colors and in the exuberant arrangements of the music there is always something surprising or compelling to be found.
