Gitarist Joep Pelt (1979) has been living the Mississippi delta blues since his he was eighteen years old. A number of times he traveled through the south of the United States to discover the secrets of this musical style and he studies with blues veterans like R.L. Burnside and T-Model Ford. Since 2004 his search for the sources of the blues drives Pelt to Mali where he met vocalist and guitarist Lobi Traoré in capital city Bamako. Traoré is a Bambara blues man who performs an inflammatory kind of African city blues in his own club every week. Traoré and Pelt decided to record a CD together and that album came out recently.
