Samba Soul, the solo project of singer Lilian Vieira (Zuco 103), radiates the atmosphere of Brazilian soul, funk and pop from the 1970s.
For 25 years the Brazilian singer Lilian Vieira has been living in The Netherlands, where she success with Zuco 103. As a temporary side-project from this band she recently recorded her first solo CD entitled Lilian Vieira. This cheerful, but also melancholy album radiates the atmosphere of the music of her youth, from Brazilian soul to samba jazz or the psychedelic Tropicalia movement. Her fondness of 60s and 70s is also evident in her band Samba Soul, with which she has been performing for 10 years already. The cavaquinho, the Brazilian guitar, plays an important part alongside hammond organ and latin percussion.
‘Vieira immediately convinces everybody with her warm, charming stage presence’ (NRC).
