LERNER & MOGUILEVSKY DUO

César Lerner-piano, accordion, percussion, Marcelo Moguilevsky-clarinet, double bass clarinet, soprano sax, flutes, harmonica, vocals

KLEZMER On Sunday 16 March how about attending Lerner & Moguilevsky Duo ‘Los Señores Klezmer’ afternoon matinee and then Frank London Klezmer Brass All Stars in the evening? Instead of paying €33 (€ 15 + € 18) you get to see them both for only € 25. César Lerner and Marcelo Moguilevsky are the descendants of Russian and Polish immigrants who came to Argentina around 1900. Theirs is an inimitable blend of traditional klezmer with Argentinean folk music, jazz, tango and modern classical compositions. From Argentina comes a revival of klezmer: ‘They challenge, they amuse, and they thrill themselves. Basavilbaso not only rescues klezmer music, but projects it into new and personal horizons.’ (La Nación). This concert is part of the Accordeonslag festival. Information: www.accordeonslag.nl
