LEE KONITZ QUARTET

The jazz career of legendary alto player Lee Konitz spans over 60 years. He gained a following in the 1940s, shone on Birth of the Cool by Miles Davis and kept developing his own style. His controlled and mature playing is showcased exceptionally well in his current quartet. ‘Konitz, one of the most recorded leaders in jazz, particularly in the last few years, has seldom sounded as strong, comfortable and grounded’ (Jazz Times).
