LEE KONITZ & MINSARAH

After a career spanning more than 60 years Lee Konitz still enjoys playing with young musicians. With the trio Minsarah he recorded Deep Lee, a highlight in his recent discography. Pianist Florian Weber, bassist Jeff Denson and drummer Ziv Ravitz composed contemporary jazz numbers which offers space to Konitz’ controlled, mature playing. ‘Konitz, one of the most recorded leaders in jazz, particularly in the last few years, has seldom sounded as strong, comfortable and grounded as he does here’ (Jazz Times).
