LEAN LEFT – EX GUITARS MEET NILSSEN-LOVE & VANDERMARK

Last year the American (Chicago) saxophonist/clarinettist Ken Vandermark and the Norwegian drummer Paal Nilssen-Love gave an impressive duo concert in the Amsterdam Amsterdam OT301 venue with The Ex-guitarists Terry and Andy as supporting act. The four of them ended up playing one long number together as the ‘encore’ to the gig. They enjoyed themselves so much they decided to set up a short European tour in the spring of 2008. Vandermark and Nilssen-Love are both active in the field of raw avant-jazz and know each other having played together with such bands as Atomic, Fire Room, Free Music Ensemble, School Days and the Peter Brötzmann Chicago Tentet.
