Lars Danielsson Liberetto – Cloudland

Lars Danielsson has been recognized for decades playing double bass with such jazz legends as John Scofield, Jack DeJohnette, and Mike Stern. The Swedish jazz musician always seems to be one step ahead of his fellow bass players because of his exceptional sense of melody, which he developed during his classical cello training. In is band Liberetto he remains true to his personal style, which can be described as spacious, lyrical, and melancholic.
On the recent album Cloudland, Liberetto welcomes new drummer Magnus Öström, a former member of the successful piano trio E.S.T. (Esbjörn Svensson Trio). Furthermore, the group consists of rising star pianist Grégory Privat from Martinique, and the seasoned British guitarist John Parricelli, who has collaborated with the likes of Lee Konitz, Paul Motian, and Kenny Wheeler.
