Kurt Elling: The Beautiful Day

Kurt Elling is considered one of the greatest jazz vocalists of our time; he has won a Grammy and has topped the polls of Downbeat and Jazz Journalists Association many times in recent years. The American singer melts away preconceived notions about Christmas; in his view Christmas is about universal themes such as hope, light, wonder and mystery. With this in mind he treats his audience with surprising variations on familiar melodies, and amazing improvisations.
