Ever since Kristina Fuchs launched her debut CD, ‘Portrait of a Woman’, in 1999, she has been recognised as an uncommon talent. A few quotes from the press: ‘Very pleasurable debut’ (de Volkskrant), ‘Self-determined lady with a story’ (NRC Handelsblad). The combination of electric guitar, trumpet, and voice creates a characteristic sound, sometimes dreamy, sometimes agressive but always playful and musical. Her repertoire consists mainly of original compositions but also includes jazz-standards by, for instance, Kenny Wheeler and Keith Jarret.
