Pianist/composer Kris Davis is a major talent from the New York creative music scene. Her playing bridges the styles of Bill Evans and Cecil Taylor with the avant-gardist strategies of Ligeti and Feldman. Colorful, angular jazz phrases are fluently intertwined with the prepared piano technique of John Cage.
