KONRAD KOSELLECK BIG BAND – MAUERFALL
KONRAD KOSELLECK BIG BAND – MAUERFALL
- Starts
- 20:30
The first edition of the series of four concerts by the Konrad Koselleck Big Band commemorates the fall of the Berlin Wall, which took place exactly twenty years ago today. Special guests are Berlin and Amsterdam based cabaret performer Sven Ratzke and singer Greetje Kauffeld. Shortly after the wall was erected in 1964 she had a Schlager hit with the very topical single ‘Wir können uns nur Briefe schreiben’. The concert is steeped in Berlin nostalgia and is full of contrasts, from sugary German torch songs to an intense, militaristic wall of sound with six baritone saxophonists. Koselleck’s arrangements are performed by both young and seasoned talents alike.
