Konrad Koselleck Big Band – The concert to end all wars

On November 11 it is exactly 100 years since the end of World War I, which was marked by an armistice. The hope for a better future, but also the tragedy of the aftermath of war are important themes in this edition of The Concert to End All Wars, in which the Konrad Koselleck Big Band combines stories and music, with leading parts for singer Ellen ten Damme and narrator Vincent Bijlo.

Special guest is Fay Lovsky, who is known for her enchanting voice and her virtuosity on exotic instruments such as the theremin and the singing saw. Fay is connected to World War I with a remarkable story. Since 2014 band leader Konrad Koselleck regularly presents concerts in the series The Concert to End All Wars, with a different perspective every time. The Konrad Koselleck Big Band is something else, with adventurous combinations of jazz, cabaret, theatre, pop and even classical music.

‘Koselleck has a keen sense of atmosphere, he knows when to slow down or fire up the band … the conviction of an ecstatic big band is phenomenal’ (de Volkskrant).
