KONRAD KOSELLECK BIG BAND MET HENK KRAAIJEVELD & DEBORAH J. CARTER BACK ON STAGE
KONRAD KOSELLECK BIG BAND MET HENK KRAAIJEVELD & DEBORAH J. CARTER BACK ON STAGE
- Starts
- 20:30
The Konrad Koselleck Big Band is something else, continuously searching for challenging combinations of jazz, cabaret and many other areas. Featuring singers Henk Kraaijeveld and Deborah J. Carter with a program with unexpected big band arrangements of jazz standards as well as contemporary songs including some of songwriter Beck.
The Konrad Koselleck is something else. Time and again band leader Koselleck finds adventurous combinations of jazz, cabaret, musical, pop, rock, funk, Latin and even classical music. The repertoire ranges from Brecht and Weill to Nina Hagen and Rammstein, plus many new works by contemporary composers.
‘Koselleck has a keen sense of atmosphere, he knows when to slow down or fire up the band… the conviction of an ecstatic big band is phenomenal’ (de Volkskrant).
‘Sure, it’s as loud and impressive as a big band is supposed to be, but beyond that it’s a revelation to hear how serene this bunch of metal can become, how Koselleck makes use of all the dynamic possibilities of his ensemble’ (de Volkskrant).
Unfortunately, due to unexpected family circumstances, Edwin Rutten will not perform with the Konrad Koselleck Big Band. The concert The Young Person’s Guide to the Jazz Orchestra by Edwin Rutten and Konrad Koselleck will be postponed. Monday 20 April The Konrad Koselleck Big Band will feature singers Henk Kraaijeveld and Deborah J. Carter.
The Bimhuis restaurant is open prior to the concert from 6.30 til 8.30PM (reservations via 020-7882158). After the concert, the Bimhuis Café is open (free entrance).
