Kobranie is a different concert experience. The Kobraband, Musicians 3.0 of the Utrechts Conservatorium and 15 youngsters present their story through the Kobra method: signs, rules, texts, gestures and movements are the means to direct the music. Everything takes place in the moment, without prescribed notation. Saxophonist Esmée Olthuis employs a conduction method developed by Butch Morris and John Zorn for structured free improvisation, inviting the audience and two guests (dancer Francisca Rijken and pianist Oscar Jan Hoogland) to realize her vision. A unique experience.
