Kočani Orkestar is among the funkiest brass bands of the Balkan; their music is played and remixed by the best Balkan Beats-DJs. The Macedonian group plays gypsy melodies and Turkish and Bulgarian rhythms with a Latin flavour. Passionate solos on sax, trumpet and accordion are accompanied by a rocking rhythm section with drums and four tubas. ‘One of the great Balkan Gypsy brass bands’ (The Guardian).
