Kneebody’s superb debut at the Bimhuis last year was awarded with a five star review in De Volkskrant. Like successful contemporaries The Bad Plus the young American five man band is open to divergent kinds of music, from Hendrix and Aphex Twin to Ellington and Reich. Following two albums with original compositions Kneebody released a CD this year with songs by Charles Ives, featuring singer Theo Bleckmann. ‘… spontaneous and exciting… the writing is fresh’ (Downbeat).
