KEYS AND STIX FESTIVAL SATURDAY

Exclusively duos with keyboard instruments and percussion will perform during the surprisingly varied Keys and Stix Festival. Neofobic, featuring festival co-organizer Dimitar Bodurov on piano and Jens Düppe on drums, have developed an organic unity of solid acoustic music and live electronics. As a duo, drummer Han Bennink and pianist Irène Schweizer are prone to sound mellower than usual; certainly more quiet and elegant than the raw free-jazz for which they are known as soloists. French pianist Benoît Delbecq and British drummer Steve Arguëlles have already recorded two albums on which acoustic playing and electronic sounds are interweaved.
