Keyboard instrument and percussion duos only will perform during the unique Keys and Stix Festival. This third edition juxtaposes warm and poetic sounds with raw and energetic playing. Pianist Simon Nabatov, ‘one of the most complete virtuosos on his instrument’ (de Volkskrant), has regularly performed with New York avant-gardist Tom Rainey. Joost Lijbaart and ECM recording artist Wolfert Brederode know each other from Yuri Honing’s band. Michael Vatcher, key figure in the Amsterdam improv scene, meets Dimitar Bodurov, who combines piano and electronics.
