Kapok
Morris Kliphuis horn, Timon Koomen guitar, Remco Menting drums.
After ten years Kapok will give their final concert at our BIMHUIS. Since their foundation, Kapok has stood out from the jazz crowd, if only because of their instrumentation. The French horn might be a typically classical instrument, but Morris Kliphuis takes it into the realm of jazz, funk and rock. Remco Menting sounds unlike any other drummer on his self-designed drum kit. And Timon Koomen’s guitar brings strange soundscapes to life.
Kapok adopts all kinds of styles, including jazz, rock, classical, and African music. An unusual mixture of influences, that sounds completely natural in the hands of Kapok. With its chemistry and adventurous course, the trio became one of the most original and exciting live bands in The Netherlands. Now the three members are looking forward to new challenges. Don’t miss their very last performance together!
